What is on offer

Working from our Newport – Isle of Wight office, you will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks required to operate a small but growing ISP including but not limited to:

• Configuration of Core and End User devices.

• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades.

• Respond proactively to network alarms.

• Monitor performance to ensure network availability and reliability.

• Provision new services and provide tech support to our customers.

• Liaising and maintaining a good relationship with our customers and suppliers.

You must have:

• In-depth knowledge of network fundamentals, any experience within an ISP or data center environment.

• CCNA level understanding of network fundamentals (valid qualification is not essential, however suitable experience and knowledge is very important).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities and use own initiative

• Must have a genuine interest in technology and a willingness to learn

• A friendly and approachable personality – you will be speaking to our customers

• A positive “can-do” attitude

• Ability to self-motivate, keep up-to-date

• Full clean Driving License

Desireable Skills:

• Good practical experience of a Linux Server environment, experience with BIND, Radius, Apache, MySQL would be beneficial.

• Good practical experience with BGP, OSPF, VLAN, MPLS, L2TP, PPPoE

• Hands-on with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Cacti, Zabbix

• Experience with wireless networks

• Experience with SIP, Hosted VoIP and IP Phone Management

• Any vendor-specific experience with Cisco, Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, Siklu, Ceragon, SIAE would be useful.
